right to apply it to authors in the future without prior notice.
Ordinarily, WealthSignals does not provide refunds once a subscription period has started. Dissatisfaction with a strategy's performance does not constitute a basis for refund. WealthSignals will refund prorated monthly subscription fees upon request to Subscribers of Trading Systems that have been suspended or that have violated the 2-10 rule (red-flagged) for more than 10 consecutive days during the subscription period. WealthSignals will refund prorated annual subscription fees only if the author has abandoned the system, which shall be defined as not posting at least one signal or one NST notification for more than 30 consecutive days.
Members should request a refund if they are charged a subscription fee AFTER successfully requesting a cancellation, given that the cancellation is effective after the current subscription period ends. Send refund requests to WealthSignals Support.
Authors are not eligible for refunds for author posting fees, if posting fees apply.
WealthSignals Trading System (a.k.a. WSTS)
A trading system is a group of specific rules that determine entry and exit points, called 'signals', to
execute trades for a given instrument. End of Day (EOD) trading systems provide signals based on the previous
trading day's market data thus allowing signals to be placed once prior to opening of each market session.
WealthSignals Web Service allows its Authors to publish their EOD Trading Systems so that traders can subscribe
(for a monthly fee) to the Author's trading signals; thus, Subscribers use the Author's Trading System for their
own educative and/or trading purposes. For clarity of this document, all further mentions of the term 'Trading System'
'End of Day Trading System' because all WealthSignals Trading Systems are currently for the purpose of
End of Day trading
, i.e. they allow Subscribers, should they choose, to enter orders with their broker just one-time
prior to the opening of each market session.
No Fee for searching for or watching Trading Systems
Any WealthSignals.com user can search for Trading Systems, using our Find-a-Strategy feature, FREE of CHARGE.
Registered users can select Trading Systems to Watch in their Dashboard, FREE of Charge.
WealthSignals Trading System Classification
WealthSignals Trading Systems publicly and non-optionally participate in the Subscriber Network. Authors cannot change
the classification of their trading system to private (see section Trading System Authors below for more information).
Public: Participates in the Subscriber Network, i.e.
our marketplace where Authors publish their trading systems so that Subscribers can receive daily signals. Maintaining
the integrity and effectiveness of our Subscriber Network is our top priority, therefore, we have established policies
for Author to follow (see Publishing and Maintaining Trading Systems in the Subscriber Network below for more information).
A Trading System's Approach to Producing Signals
WealthSignals offers users the ability to filter or sort their search for Trading Systems based on out-of-sample performance metrics and other properties. Potential subscribers should carefully study the description of the Trading System to determine if the approach is suitable for their trading style, risk profile and/or investment horizon. WealthSignals makes no guarantee that a Trading System will follow its described approach. For example, a Trading System could be advertised by the Author as a Technical Analysis-based Trading System, however, some or all signals the Author published may be based on discretionary or other factors. Authors are obliged but not required to state in their Trading System description or forum more detail information about their approach.
Hypothetical Performance data: Returns and Drawdown
All performance data found in WealthSignals is based on hypothetical or simulated trading. Be advised that the WEALTHSIGNALS TRADING SYSTEM RESULTS ARE NOT BASED ON ACTUAL TRADING. Trading system results shown on WealthSignals pages may be different than those that are executed by a live broker on a real exchange. There is NO guarantee of past or future results no matter what performance data may indicate. Returns and Drawdown (i.e. performance) calculations found in the Find-a-Strategy results pages, Trading System detail pages, and other public areas are revised at least once a day. Backtest performance information is based on data provided by Authors and it only shows that the Author probably performed system testing (and nothing else), and therefore enhances a system's description without the need for the Author to provide information "off-site". Subscriber results may vary considerably from the Author's results for many reasons including but not limited to market factors, different and/or erroneous data, software bugs, user errors, etc. The order of appearance of Trading Systems in WealthSignals Find-a-Strategy results page by performance sorting are not subject to human influence but only based on WealthSignals Trading Systems' Returns data. Sorting may be based on any metric shown, indicated by the column header.
If an Author has chosen to submit historical performance data of their Trading System using the WealthSignals Publisher, the uploaded performance results includes history of all closed and open trades made by the system to date, its equity curve data, and a sample of performance metrics indicative to system performance calculated by Wealth-Lab software and/or the WealthSignals Publisher: This list of performance metrics may change without notice.
APR – Annualized Percentage Return. Also known as CAGR – Compound Annual Growth Rate
Max Drawdown % – The greatest peak to trough percentage excursion in the equity curve
Profit Factor - Profit Factor is the system's gross profit divided by gross loss
Sharpe Ratio - risk-adjusted performance, calculated monthly
Recovery Factor - the absolute value of Net Profit divided by Maximum Drawdown
Exposure - the total market exposure of the trading strategy calculated on a bar by bar basis, measuring the area of portfolio equity that was exposed to the market
Wealth-LWealth-Lab Score - an annualized metric that encompasses profitability, market exposure and risk and allowing to compare backtests that span time periods of different lengths
Currently, it's possible only for Wealth-Lab users to submit historical results following a Portfolio Simulation mode backtest using Wealth-Lab's WealthSignals Publisher extension.
Equity Curve and Drawdown Chart
Equity curve charts display the progression of a portfolio's value (cash + equity) over time. If provided, backtest (in-sample) results are displayed in an alternate color (e.g., gray) on the left and are normalized to end at the starting equity value of the WealthSignals out-of-sample test period on the right, displayed in blue by default. Backtest results are only produced by Authors that use a licensed version of the Wealth-Lab client software. Currently, there is no alternate way to associate backtest results with a WealthSignals Trading System.
Self-Traded indicates that the Author has claimed to trade the system in their own live trading account. WealthSignals does not independently verify if Authors are self-trading their signals.
Currently, the WealthSignals Web Service only accepts Trading Systems that target U.S. stocks. Specifically, the list of valid symbols is comprised of the union of the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 current constituents, which encompasses the Dow 30 and the S&P 100 components. Additionally, a selection of highly liquid ETFs is included, and TSSN authors may request other ETFs to be added to the list of valid symbols. See the following List of SYMBOLS. In the near future, all stocks and ETFs listed (no pink sheets) on NYSE, Nasdaq, and AMEX will be applicable for WealthSignals. This change will be announced on the WealthSignals forum.
WealthSignals Trading System Forums
Trading System Status Rules
WealthSignals Web Service has created the follow rules to better serve and protect the integrity of our Subscriber Network.
All strategies participate in the TSSN and therefore accept subscribers. At this time, there is no limit to the number of subscribers who can sign up to a Strategy, although we reserve the right to limit subscribers for any reason. A Strategy marked by a Red Flag indicates failure to follow the 2-10 Rule, see below.
2 out of 10-day Rule (2-10 Rule)
WealthSignals requires that Trading System Authors participating in the TSSN to EITHER place signals for each new trading session OR post our standard 'NO SIGNALS TODAY' (NST) notice. This rule prevents Subscribers from being left in the dark about their paid subscription and demonstrates that the author is active. IF an Author has NOT performed one of these actions for 2 of the trading sessions in the last 10 calendar days, a red flag icon will be displayed next to the Trading System. Subscribers may be entitled to a partial refund if a strategy has violated the 2-10 rule for an extended period of time.
WealthSignals reserves the right to remove Strategies that appear to be abandoned from the TSSN. An abandoned Strategy is detected if, 1) the author has not posted trading signals (or NST) in the any of the last 55 calendar days, and, 2) the trading system has zero subscribers. It is incumbent upon subscribers to unsubscribe from trading systems that appear to be neglected by their author.
'Under Review' status
WealthSignals may penalize Trading Systems in the TSSN that do not follow our policies by changing their status to 'Under Review'. A Trading System with the status 'Under Review' does not appear in the default results of Find-a-Strategy nor does it appear in any other results list of valid Trading Systems. Trading Systems with this status cannot obtain new Subscribers. Authors of Trading Systems with this status cannot request any built-up earnings. To have this status changed Authors must successfully clear the '2-10 Rule'. Authors that delete or otherwise suspend Trading Systems will lose rights to any earnings that those Trading Systems may have built-up. That is to say, a delinquent Author, with a Trading System in the TSSN, that at one-time collected subscription fees, BUT now finds itself without Subscribers, AND with the status 'Under Review', CAN DELETE the Trading System; however, in doing so the Author will forfeit any built-up earnings for that Trading System. This is to prevent unscrupulous players from gaming the system by "taking the money and running". Thus, Authors will be required to follow due diligence to their Subscribers when discontinuing a Trading System. Trading Systems that find themselves with the status 'Under Review' more than twice in a six-month period will be suspended. The Authors of Trading Systems that are suspended for this reason will not be able to claim any built-up earnings from these Trading Systems. If an error has occurred in our status-change automation system and an Author finds that his Trading System is mistakenly 'Under Review', he can petition WealthSignals Administration for a corrected status. To do so please send a message to WealthSignals Support with the subject line 'Trading System Status Issue' and be sure to state just exactly which Trading System is in question. Be advised that WealthSignals is not responsible for any loss of earnings, delays in earnings distribution, loss of subscribership, nor tarnishment of reputation due to any mechanical, human or other type of error or obstruction that results from a change of status of a Trading System or otherwise.
The status of a Trading System in the TSSN may change automatically based on:
Adherence to the 2-10 Rule for both NEW trading systems and 'Under Review' Trading Systems,
reaching or falling below x% of max. # of Subscribers, or
reaching or falling below the maximum number of Subscribers.
The Author cannot change the status of a Trading System, however, an Author may DELETE their Trading System when no subscribers are active. As aforementioned, Authors will lose the rights to collect built up earnings after deleting a strategy. To get paid before deleting a Trading System, log in and request a withdrawal from the Earnings view.
To subscribe to a Trading System and receive and/or have access to its Signals, users must first create a valid WealthSignals.com account and complete the subscription process with our payment provider.
Understanding Risk and Taking Full Responsibility
WealthSignals Trading System information is based on hypothetical performance results which have certain limitations. They do NOT represent actual trading therefore do NOT have financial risk. While care is taken to simulate market conditions, no claim is being made that these results will or are likely to be like an actual trading account. Further, since the trades have not been executed in an actual market, their performance results may over-or-under compensate for their unrealized impact on the market. WealthSignals will not be responsible for or accept any liability for any losses arising from an investor's reliance on or use of information on our website, in our emails, or our other communications. All WealthSignals information and communications is for informational purposes only and is neither a solicitation to buy nor an offer to sell securities. WealthSignals data, signals, or other information is not intended to be used as the sole source of information on a company or trading instrument. WealthSignals makes no guarantee that Authors of WealthSignals Trading Systems for subscription will or will not act to service or protect the interests of their Subscribers; therefore, any action or inaction a Subscriber takes in relation to a WealthSignals Trading System information is done so at the Subscriber's own risk. This is true even in cases where an Author or Subscriber intended to act, or intended not to act, but failed to do so because of a mechanical, human or other type of error or obstruction.
Subscribing to a Trading System
Once registered users subscribe to a Trading System they will be able to see all content concerning signals for that Trading System, including current Placed Signals, Open Signals, Closed Signals, and Signal History. Immediately upon their first subscription, registered users will be required to set up a payment method within our payment processing service. [Important Note: Subscribers will not be billed until the end of the Trial period for Trading Systems that support trials.] Subscribers will be required to set an account allocation so that the relative hypothetical or actual risk assumed by a Subscriber's account allocation more closely matches the risk of the model account. Subscribers will find their subscriptions in their Dashboard and within the section labelled "My Subscribed Strategies" and may retrieve pending Signals via email and/or Wealth-Lab client software.
Trial subscriptions are no longer offered for WealthSignals systems. Prospective subscribers should evaluate a strategy research results, out-of-sample performance, and trade history to evaluate their decision to subscribe.
Subscription fees are billed automatically to Subscribers once per month on the "anchor" day based on the amount designated by the Author at the time of posting of the Trading System, regardless of the number of days in the month of the subscription to a Trading System; subscription fees will not be prorated for the month they start or the month they are cancelled. Subscription fees range from FREE to $250 USD or more, per the Trading System's Author's discretion.
Cancellation of a Subscription
Prior to each billing, Subscribers may receive an email notification containing the number of days until the next charge. Subscribers may cancel subscriptions at any time by visiting the system page and clicking the 'UNSUBSCRIBE' button. Access to signals will be suspended immediately upon cancellation. To take advantage of the full period, Subscribers should not cancel a subscription before the end of the paid subscription period. Cancellation does not entitle a Subscriber to a refund except to the extent of subscription periods paid in advance. No refund is given for a cancellation during a subscription period unless such cancellation is a result of a Trading System status change described above.
Auto-Trading and Using Wealth-Lab client software
Wealth-Lab client versions 6.5 and higher are equipped with the WealthSignals Trader tool, which may be employed manually to download signals from your WealthSignals Trading System subscriptions. With their WealthSignals.com credentials, Subscribers can use the WealthSignals Trader to: a) associate a paper or live trading account to a WealthSignals System [signals], b) send signals to the Quotes tool for monitoring stop and limit alerts and optionally stage or place them, and/or, c) stage or place orders directly to the Orders tool. Check with our support team for compatible brokers.
Placing Orders and Hypothetical Fills
WealthSignals executes/fills orders hypothetically to track trade and system performance. For stocks that trade or have traded in the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 100/500 indices, Market orders are hypothetically executed at the Primary Market's opening price. For this same data set, WealthSignals may apply additional proprietary statistical filtering to ignore "unrealistic" trades (outliers) that could have hypothetically triggered limit or stop orders.
When supported, other stock instruments may not receive the same hypothetical price fill treatment. In these cases, market orders are generally filled at the first-traded price on any exchange. Likewise, WealthSignals may not apply its unrealistic trade filtering and as a result will use the instrument's full trading range, realistic or not, to fill stop and limit orders.
Live orders placed as "Market on Open" (MOO) orders with their broker - before 0920 ET on NYSE and before 0925 on NASDAQ – will participate in the "opening cross" and these MOO orders should be executed in the primary market. [ Important Note: Wealth-Lab Pro does not support the MOO TIF with Fidelity. To enter a MOO order at Fidelity, use fidelity.com or Active Trader Pro.]
For more information and a data set containing Primary Market Opening prices, navigate to Wealth-Data.com
Subscribers can view their hypothetical WealthSignals Portfolio in the Position's view. After subscribing to a Trading System, the Subscriber's account may be "out-of-sync", or unsynchronized, with Positions already held by the model account. WealthSignals provides "Sync Options" so that Subscribers can synchronize their portfolio with the model account. Synchronizing is completely optional and may allow Subscribers to enter a trade at a more favorable – or less favorable – price level. Subscribers who do not synchronize may choose ignore future exit signals for those model account positions that they do not hold. Likewise, rogue trades may exist (see below).
A rogue trade occurs when a subscriber's account contains a position that was signaled but not acquired by the model account. This can happen
for multiple scenarios. The primary scenario is when authors publish more orders than the buying power of the model account can support, especially in the case of limit-order strategies. Consequently, the scenario occurs when a subscriber's hypothetical and/or live account is filled, but the model account is not due to lack of buying power. This may often happen immediately after subscribing to a strategy at which time the Subscriber's account has its full allocation contributing to buying power at the time that the buying power of the model account is reduced by positions already held in the portfolio.
Trading System Authors (a.k.a. Developers or Vendors)
To publish trading systems on the WealthSignals Web Service and start getting up-to-the-minute market data results for hypothetical trading, users must first create a valid WealthSignals.com account. [Important note: See "WealthSignals.com Terms of Service Violation" below.]
Trading System Posting Requirements
Authors must be registered users of the WealthSignals.com website. When using Create a Strategy, systems are Public by default and participate in the TSSN. To complete system creation, authors must accept e-mail communications and notifications from WealthSignals. To receive payment, authors must have a PayPal account. WealthSignals does not allow Authors to post another person's Trading System from a non-public domain unless they have written permission from the owner of the Trading System and the description of the Trading System accredits the original Author and ownership status. WealthSignals does not independently verify whether an Author is the legal owner of a Trading System nor whether a claim of permission to post another Author's Trading System is valid.
No Fee for Trading Systems
At the present time, any registered user can create a Trading System and post it to our Public area FREE of CHARGE.
Using Wealth-Lab Client Software to Action Trading Systems
Authors can use the WealthSignals Publisher extension within our Wealth-Lab 6.9 and above client software to post their signals and backtesting results directly to their Trading Systems listed within the WealthSignals Web Service.
Support for other software analysis clients may be supported in the future.
Publishing and Maintaining Trading Systems in the Subscriber Network
For an Author to publish and maintain a trading system in our TSSN, i.e. obtain Subscribers and earn subscription fees, the Author must:
Submit a 'Create a Strategy' form to establish a trading system presence in the TSSN;
then use our WealthSignals Publisher (WSV), within the Wealth-Lab client software, to associate an existing mechanical strategy (i.e. the Author's own strategy code and applied symbols' DataSet) to the fore-mentioned WSTS AND upload its backtest and performance data.
Subsequently, prior to the open of every NYSE session, the Author must either publish signals OR submit our standard 'NO SIGNALS for the next market session' notice for the WSTS, using our Website or the WSV.
Important: see Adequate Window for Placing Trades
The Author must report each system modification event to our TSSN via the trading systems' forum to notify subscribers of changes that could affect the system's historical or future hypothetical performance. When considering an event report please remember:
A system modification is defined as one or more changes to the executable strategy code, its applied symbols' DataSet, or any other update that would affect hypothetical system performance such as but not limited to:
changes to custom indicator or component libraries used by the system,
updates to parameter variables,
retraining of a neural network
Each event must be reported as a new topic in the system's forum.
Only general information about the change is required to be reported. Specific details of the change that would reveal the system's trading advantage are not required to be specified.
The Author is expected to respond to Subscriber inquiries posted to their Trading System's forum, in a timely manner. If a 'Signal Support' forum is available, ONLY the Author and the WSTS Subscribers can view this private category, i.e., is visible only by the WSTS Subscribers and the Author. The Author can only communicate with the WSTS Subscribers by forum or by our direct messaging from the WSTS's admin page. The Author acknowledges that WealthSignals, its administration and other staff as well as its registered members, may publicly evaluate the WSTS and each such Author waives any claim it may have against such persons with respect to any such evaluation.
Adequate Window for Placing Trades
Authors should keep in mind that their Trading System Subscribers are likely to reside around the globe, i.e. varying time zones; therefore, they will need to communicate very clearly when Subscriber can expect to get their signals, AND they ought to be habitual about the time of day they post their signals. This information ought to be clearly stated in the Trading System's configuration information. Failure to place signals before the NYSE opens can result in violation of the 2-10 rule. Authors making an error in placing their signals should immediately notify their Subscribers by both posting a notice in the Trading System's forum AND by using our bulk email system. They ought to report the nature of the error and inform them as to what action was taken by the Author, and, when applicable, what action a Subscriber ought to take to correct the situation. WealthSignals is not responsible for any liability or damages resulting from one or more of an Author's signals not placed, placed in error, placed containing errors in one or more of its attributes.
To encourage Author engagement, if no communication has been received by the author for one or more strategies by 0800 ET, WealthSignals will automatically send authors an e-mail reminder to post signals (or NST notification).
Authors must be attentive to positions involving corporate actions so that signals properly correlate with the model account.
How WS handles Splits, Spinoffs, Mergers, and removal from WealthSignals symbol list:
Splits: Positions are split at approximately 8pm ET on the night before the ex-date so that the full position can be exited on the ex-date. WealthSignals may email authors and subscribers of splits applied to active positions.
Mergers & Spinoffs: Split will be applied to the parent company and dividends paid if applicable so that the full value of the original position is maintained. The spun company will be ignored and not appear as equity in the portfolio. Positions in live broker accounts will require manual intervention. Adjustments to pricing and shares in WealthSignals may be required on a date following the ex-date.
Non-integer shares resulting from corp. action: Dividends may be paid for non-integer shares.
Removal from WealthSignals Symbols
Currently only symbols in the S&P 500 or NASDAQ 100 may be traded on WealthSignals.
Exit signals for active positions will be honored, but entry signals will be rejected for symbols that are removed from the union of these constituent lists.
Earnings Fee Schedule
Authors earn 80% of the Subscription Fees we collect for their Trading System. Subscribers and fees collected may be seen in the Strategy's Earnings View.
Remittance of Built-up Earnings (Payout)
WealthSignals remits Author earnings electronically through PayPal.
PayPal may apply transaction fees. If the PayPal payment option is not acceptable, we will arrange an alternative payment method such as a bank wire transfer, however, there will be additional fees that the Author will incur. Wire transfers will incur a minimum $20 USD fee and up to $50 USD, deducted from the author's balance.
The author's fee summary will indicate the earnings payout available to request. When this amount exceeds 50 USD, the author may request payment using the Author's Earnings page. Generally, requests for payment will processed once per week on Fridays before 1300 GMT.
TSSN Listing Fee Schedule
Currently, authors post trading systems free of charge (no hidden fees).
Trading System Configuration Updating
Once a Trading System is submitted to the TSSN, Authors can't edit or change the following variables of its configuration: System Name, Model Account Size, Margin setting,
or the Subscription Price. At any time, Authors can update the System's Description, Trade Duration, Self-Traded, Max. # of Subscribers, and/or Trial Period. Private Trading
Systems can be made public at any time.
De-activating a Trading System in the TSSN
IF a Trading System that is currently active in the TSSN, AND has ZERO Subscribers, THEN it can be suspended (i.e. decommissioned), OR moved to the Trading System Private
immediately by the Author. HOWEVER, for an Author to de-activate (i.e. suspend or decommission), OR move to the Private, a Trading System that has Subscribers, the Author
must use the following procedure:
Send notification to all the Trading System Subscribers stating that the Trading System will be submitted for de-activation on such and such a date (minimum one week
from the time of notice);
in the same notification, request that the Subscribers terminate (i.e. cancel) their subscription ASAP.
IF all the Subscribers cancel, THEN the Author can simply move or suspend the Trading System; if there are still Subscribers to the Trading System by the cutoff date,
then the Author must notify WealthSignals administration that a Trading System with Subscribers is being submitted for de-activation.
[Important note: continue to maintain the Trading System with due diligence to Subscribers until WealthSignals administration can properly notify and remove
all the Subscribers. WealthSignals will notify the Author when the Trading System is ready to be removed for the TSSN.] Contact WealthSignals Support to request that
WealthSignals de-activate a Trading System with remaining Subscribers.]
Refunds and chargebacks passed on to Authors
Any amount refunded to Subscribers (less WealthSignals' share described above), PLUS any applied 'Chargeback' fee that banks may add PLUS our own merchant bank processing costs, will be deducted from the Author's built-up earnings, if the Author has no built-up earnings or its balance isn't large enough to cover the total amount of the cost of refund, then the owed balance may be charged to the Author. THEREFORE, it is very important that Authors give quality customer service to our Subscribers to avoid these costs.
Promoting Trading Systems
Authors can solicit for new customers within their Trading System descriptions, their WealthSignals Trading System forums, their profile and/or any advertising opportunity afforded by WealthSignals on WealthSignals.com; however, Authors are NOT allowed to solicit for new customers by posting to other registered user forums and the main Wealth-Lab Forums. Authors that have Trading Systems in our TSSN agree not to market their Trading Systems for less money or greater incentive in a competing service whether it's another service like WealthSignals or their own website. Furthermore, Authors may not make mention of any existing competing service(s) anywhere within WealthSignals.
